International Women's Day: Join Us In Solidarity

by Denise Irving | March 7, 2022

International Women’s Day (IWD) is a day of celebration, action, and awareness for women and the challenges or injustices we face every day.

The purpose of International Women’s Day is to shine a light on the issues and inequalities affecting women across the world, celebrate the achievements of women, and engage in open discussions about how we can bring about positive change with equity and equality.

What began as a weeklong grassroots campaign in 1978 in California, quickly evolved into a celebratory month! In 1980, President Jimmy Carter issued the first presidential proclamation declaring the week of March 8 as National Women’s History Week (thank you, President Carter!), and it grew from there.

The IWD 2022 campaign theme for International Women’s Day on March 8th is #BreakTheBias. Imagine a world where difference is valued and celebrated. Together we can forge women's equality. Collectively we can all #BreakTheBias.

From challenge comes change. We encourage everyone to join the movement and raise a hand in solidarity to call out inequality and strike the Break the Bias pose on March 8th. Post your pics on social and make sure to tag us!
