Dr. Alfredo Quiñones-Hinojosa. Dr. Quiñones’ story may sound like a movie script, but it is not fiction. Dr. Quiñones arrived in the United States a migrant farm worker in 1987, at the age of 19. He spoke not a word of English and had less than five dollars in his pocket - but he possessed a burning desire to make something of himself. Today, Dr. Quiñones- or “Dr. Q,” as he is known to his colleagues- is an Associate Professor of Neurosurgery and Oncology, Neuroscience and Cellular and Molecular Medicine at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore, Maryland. Dr. Quiñones’ presentations include themes of determination, resilience, passion, dedication, and mentoring, as he shares his remarkable life’s journey.
