White Sox Pitcher Mark Buehrle Makes Baseball History

by Chris | July 27, 2009

Mark Buehrle pitched a perfect game on Thursday.  The White Sox pitcher did not let a runner reach base, leading his team to a 5-0 victory over the Tampa Devil Rays at U.S. Cellular Field. Center fielder, Dewayne Wise helped keep the perfect game intact with his game saving catch. President Obama, a White Sox fan, called Buehrle to congratulate him and referred to the game as an “unbelievable achievement.”

With baseball season in full swing, organizations are looking to baseball greats to draw analogies between the world of sports and business.  Some audience favorites include: Tommy Lasorda, Dusty Baker, Sparky Anderson, Jim Bouton, Steve Garvey and Johnny Bench.
